Robot-Wrecking Adventures with the Blue Bomber
I pulled out my controller and played some Mega Man Legacy Collection for about an hour. This collection has six Mega Man games to choose from. In each game, the objective is to defeat all the bosses and get their weapons before taking on the villainous evil scientist known as Dr. Wily while overcoming obstacles and robot enemies that are trying to kick his ass. I have managed to defeat the first boss, Fire Man, in the first Mega Man game. I survived the battle against him with one health left. Damn, that was a close call. I even got bonus and clear points after defeating the first boss:
Yeah, I had fun with the Blue Bomber but damn that was intense as hell. After I played some of that, I found this short clip made by Dorkly:
I thought that was funny because of the toilets disappearing and reappearing in different areas, like the one on the ceiling. π
Counter-Strike meets Left 4 Dead
Last night I played a bit of Codename CURE, another first-person shooting game that I haven’t touched. It’s about a support team where you can play with up to five players as they go out on different objective and survival-based missions while fighting off dozens of infected zombies. Here’s what the game looks like:
This is fun to play but the missions are sometimes hard to complete with bots. What I mostly like about this game are the bot names based on some robot characters like R2-D2, C-3PO, GIR and Johnny 5. I added some more bot names on the list like Jailbot, Super Mecha Death Christ and Central Scrutinizer. π
Click here if you want to get the game for free.
Let’s talk about Metro 2033
Last night I played a game that I have never touched, and that is Metro 2033. It’s a first-person shooter survival horror video game where you play as Artyom, a guy who must defeat an evil mutant race known as the Dark Ones, and you are fighting off a bunch of mutants, demons and enemy humans with guns. Man, I hate those gun-toting bastards with a passion. Anyway, here are a few screenshots of what the game looks like:
What I like about this are the traditional guns like revolvers, automatic weapons and shotguns. I also like this one cutscene that has pictures of things like the clock tower, the city, the boats out on the water, etc. It’s because it’s the coolest cutscene I have ever seen, and the reason why I like the pictures in it because they look quite nice. π So yeah, I had fun playing it but God that was brutal.
Having fun with Carmageddon: Max Damage
I decided to tear into some Carmageddon: Max Damage, and so far it didn’t have any problems at all which is good. I was going around killing peds by driving over them, wrecking my opponents, hunting down upgrade tokens, etc.Β I took some screenshots that are extremely epic:
I have managed to steal a bunch of cars from random opponents and unlocked about 11 chapters in Career Mode. I also got a bunch of achievements like the one for wrecking my first opponent, the other for buying and equipping 12 parts in the Parts Shop for one car, etc. π This game is bloody awesome just like the other Carmageddon games. I’ll think about playing more of this someday.
Playing around some Time Slaughter
I found another DOS game where Street Fighter meets Mortal Kombat. This is Time Slaughter, a fighting game made by Bloodlust Software. I decided to tear into this old-school fighting game.
You will play as one of the ten characters and the object of the game is to defeat every opponent to get all the way up to the hideous robotic monstrosity known as Portal. Here’s what the game looks like:
The gameplay looks nice and so do the characters. Your character’s winquote will appear after you win two rounds against your opponent just like in the Street Fighter games:
Here’s one of the winquotes that really made me laugh my ass off:
Another thing in this game, if you successfully use a slaughter move (or fatality) on all ten original characters with no continues, then you will fight against the bonus character named Staine. Now that’s amazing! π What I like about this game are not only the characters, but also their battle stages like the deserted island, the New York alley, the prehistoric caveman times, etc.
Unfortunately, the creators of the game never made a sequel. π So anyway, that’s what the game is all about. It’s bloody fun! π
Late Night Open Thread: Stephen Does Covfefe
I went on YouTube last night and watched this video from the Late Show that includes covfefe, President Tangerine Nazi Rape Clown’s “Travel Ban”, etc.:
I laughed really hard at the fake quote by Abraham Lincoln from the Gettysburg Address: “Four score and seven ratselttab (battlestar spelled backwards)…”. But the quote should’ve been “Four score and seven covfefe…”, which that would be even funnier. π
Sonic and Tails’ Excellent Adventure
Instead of Scribblenauts or GMod, Tomala and I grabbed our controllers to play Sonic The Hedgehog Episode II. The gameplay looks great but the enemies are sometimes intense. The A button lets you jump or swim up (and if you keeping pressing A and you play as Tails, you will fly around especially when Sonic is grabbing him), the X button lets Sonic and Tails use teamwork, and if you hold the down button then keep pressing A, your character will rev up and take off if you let go of the down button. I also like how Sonic and Tails can do a special pinball attack to destroy a bunch of enemies. π
I remember playing other side-scrolling games like Jazz Jackrabbit for DOS, and a couple of Super Mario Advance games when I was a little kid. π We haven’t managed to kick Eggman’s ass yet, but at least it was fun. Now I just need to wait for the prices of that game plus some other Sonic games to go down then I’ll add them to my Steam library.
This Gmod screenshot is for you Tomala
Last night I took a Gmod screenshot of Raiden wearing a sombrero while holding a watermelon on one hand and a red sword on the other:
I hope you like it so much, sis. π
Have some Jacket Kittehs
I snapped this pic a few months ago. It’s Stewie and Morty lying down on my jacket in my bedroom:
I wish I had more time to kick back and relax like they do. π
