Left 4 Dead But It’s A Solo Game For The Roku
Today is the first day of Fall, and I was checking out a Roku game called Zombie 3D, a first person shooter game where your objective is to kill all zombies before they get you. Your town is infiltrated with zombies and they have started attacking people and turning them into zombies, and it’s up to you to stop this zombie apocalypse and your town and your people. I only used the default pistol because I don’t want to waste my money on weapons such as the Shotgun, AK-47, etc.
Unfortunately there’s no screenshot of the actual gameplay but I’ve gone through the first five levels of killing zombies with a pistol without becoming one, but what sucks about this game is that you need to spend some money to buy the full game in order to keep playing onward and I’m not going to do that. Also, the sprites in-game are 2D, not 3D. It should go without saying but I’ve concluded that Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 are a lot better than this Roku game, but at least I had fun killing zombies one after another. π
Let’s Talk About Number Match For Ze Roku
Last month I was playing another free Roku game called Number Match, a game where the objective is to match two numbers that have the same value or the sum of both is equal to 10. Unfortunately there is no screenshot of the actual gameplay but it does include two options: add rows of numbers and use hints. I finally managed to win this game with a lowest score possible which is 70, and what I like about this game is the beautifully mellow music with sounds of ocean waves in it. π
I’d say this is a simply fun number matching game for me, and I love it. π
Shootin’ and Glitchin’ Some Bubbles
Yesterday I was playing a different free Roku game and that is Bubble Shooter, where you match 3 or more bubbles in the playfield to make them pop. Here’s what the gameplay of Bubble Shooter looks like:
You can also unlock bombs in the main menu and use them to pop lots of bubbles, and I was doing a trick by using a few bombs to clear a playfield from all bubbles which causes the game to glitch while new bubbles randomly appear and disappear multiple times as you score a gigantic amount of points. However, if you do this trick too often then the game will slow down and eventually either take you back to the Home screen or completely lock up frozen solid which causes the Roku to restart.
So far I have reached the final score of over a million points before the game decided to have a stroke. But yeah, I always thought this crazy fun game looks similar to the Puzzle Bobble games except this has no video game characters in it.
Current Two-in-One Roku Gaming Mood: Air Hockey and Color Bowl
I’ve been having fun with two Roku games on my TV the other day.
This first one is called Air Hockey, which is a Pong-like tabletop game where you and a computer player try to score goals against each other on a low-friction table using two handheld discs (or mallets) and a lightweight plastic puck. Here’s what the gameplay of Air Hockey looks like:
I have easily crushed the computer player with a score of 187 points. I’m an Air Hockey wizard! π
This next Roku game I was playing is called Color Bowl, where you play as a colored bowling ball and the objective is to match colors of red, green or blue. Here’s what the gameplay of Color Bowl looks like:
You score one point for a regular colored ball, and two points for a colored ball with a white stripe in the middle. However; the game is over if your current colored ball touches the wrong color. So far I did pretty good and got a score of 148 points. Hooray for me!
Current Roku Game Mood: Color Swap ‘n Drop *again*
I’ve been playing the fudge out of Color Swap ‘n Drop on my Roku TV earlier this afternoon, and I finally managed to get a new high score of 4,100 points:
Hooray for me! So now is my time to celebrate and take a long break from this game… for now. π
Fun With Solitaire4us on Roku TV
I was doing some speedrunning on a Roku card game known as Solitaire4us during an internet outage the other night, and I have managed to beat the game in my new fastest time record:
I remember my previous fastest was 35 seconds from awhile back, and now it has been beaten. Finally. π
Swap ’em up and Drop ’em down
Today was a nice sunny day. Earlier this afternoon I was playing a Roku game on the TV known as Color Swap ‘n Drop. It’s a Tetris-based game where the objective is to line up 3 or more colored squares either in a vertically, horizontally and diagonally pattern while swapping and dropping random multicolored blocks. And the game will end when the stacks of blocks reach all way to the top. I’ve been sitting on the couch in the living room playing that game for about two and a half hours, and I successfully managed to get a new high score of 3200 points. I felt so amazed when I got a huge score like that. π
Oh, and what I like about the game is that it has the Top 5 high score leader board, which I find that quite interesting:
I gotta admit, this is one of my best Roku games of all time. π
Evening Open Thread
I was playing games on the Roku because I was bored. I played a couple of games like Tetris and Color Swap βn Drop for about an hour and a half, and I sure had a lot of fun. π Then I went to Hulu to watch my favorite TV shows like The Good Place and Superstore. Here’s what the two shows look like:
The Good Place is a fantasy comedy about a woman who is in a utopia called “The Good Place” after she got struck and killed by a tractor-trailer. I like how the actors and actresses use fake curse words like shirt instead of shit, fork instead of fuck, etc. π
And Superstore is a single-camera sitcom TV show about a group of workers who are working at a big-box store called “Cloud 9”.
This female assistant store manager is named Dina Fox, and she is tough as nails. I like her because she’s the strongest female character in the show, and I also like how she uses her phrases like βShut up, Sandra!β, βElias! Thatβs not how you use the ladder, you mother[bleep]ing turd!β, etc. π
So yeah, things are going well today. π
Doing some gaming on the Roku
I decided to play some games on the Roku this afternoon because I was bored. I played games like Double Draw Solo Poker, Mah Jongg and Solitaire. I was playing Double Draw Solo Poker the other day and I got a high score of 5200. π Mom likes to play games on the Roku too. She plays Solitaire, Color Swap ‘n Drop, Mah Jongg, Rockswap Adventures, Snake and other games she likes to play.
So yeah, everything’s going good so far.
