Some Game Sprite Sheet Shenanigans

A few days ago I decided to publish a couple of sprite sheets in The Spriters Resource website that include title screen sprites from the game Toy Pop. One for the original Namco arcade and the other for the Sharp X1 version of the game.

The reason why I uploaded them is because nobody bothered making those game sprite sheets, so I had to do it myself. Feel free to click on the links to check out my sprite sheets in the TSR website if anyone of you folks are interested.

Playing around a bit of Namco Museum 64

I was checking out Namco Museum 64 on Der Project 64 emulator. It’s a Nintendo 64 game where you can play 6 arcade games starting with Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Galaxian, Galaga, Dig Dug and Pole Position.

The reason why I snagged that to add to my collection of N64 games is because I remember playing Namco Museum Volumes 1 and 3 on the original Playstation back in the old days. They’re a lot of fun! 😀

Adobe Illustratification Artwork Roundup

Guess what I’ve been doing in Adobe Illustrator lately?

I just thought I’d practice some more drawing on my Wacom tablet while tracing images of various game sprites, and I will doing more of Illustrator so that I can learn new things on there. 🙂

Have some new Gmod Block Artwork

Been making some more new block art in GMod since it’s been awhile. Here’s what I’ve been making last night:

It was Pino and Acha from the 1986 Namco arcade game Toy Pop. The reason why I made them is because I remember playing that old arcade game from Namco Museum Vol. 1 on the Playstation when I was little kid.

Playing around some Dig Dug for DOS

Last year I went to My Abandonware and found a DOS game called Dig Dug, so I decided to give this a try:

You’ll play as the dude dressed in white clothing, and you’re digging underground to destroy all Pookas (the red round monsters that wear yellow goggles) and Fygars (the green dragons that breathe fire) by blowing them up with your air pump or crushing them with large rocks:

I blew up the one and only Fygar head-on for 800 points in the first round.

I got those two Pookas crushed 2,500 points. Yippee!

I’d say this is a really fun DOS Game. I was thinking about playing other Namco DOS games like Pac-Man and Galaxian, but I’m gonna have to wait on that for another time. 😀
